Math: In math, we have finished 3 by 2 division and multiplication. To finish out this nine weeks, we will be working on identifying quadrilaterals and 2 dimensional shapes. We are also going to be measuring angles using a protractor and labeling them acute, obtuse, or right angle. We are also classifying triangles and discussing how when a triangle is pulled into a straight line, it equals 180 degrees.
Reading: In reading, we have been working on how to use our background knowledge to help us understand what we are reading. We have also learned how to use inferencing skills when reading. We are going into Tall Tales, Folk Tales, and Fables, followed by fictional story elements such as plot, theme, characters, and setting.
Writing: In writing, we have worked on responding to literature. We are not into developing a realistic story based on one character that we have created. We have filled out our character sketch sheet and are beginning to create our stories.
Science: We are learning about simple machines, force and motion now. Light and sound are in our future.
Social Studies: We have learned about different Native American tribe's all across North America. We have also learned about the Early European Explorers who helped discover the new world. Colonization is in our near future.
